If we’re going to be real, the pop scene has been coming through for us in the past year with bangers from the likes of Dua Lipa and Gwen Stefani keeping us entertained. But now, making her entrance with her effervescent EP is newcomer Soulex with “Liquid Bombshell”. Brimming with confidence and glamour, the artist takes us to the centre of the dance floor for her seductive project, drawing us in with heady basslines and intoxicating rhythms.
Booming over the sultry production of “Black Sabbath”, the artist effortlessly merges her hip-hop influences with pop sensibilities, creating an eccentric soundscape that radiates ferocity.
“In our society, there’s so much aggression and miscommunication. If you love yourself, you’re able to send a powerful message to others,” Soulex candidly said. “When I listen to Love Lessons, I think, ‘she’s so cute; she thought the world was ending.’ Now, I want people to feel like they can take on the world.”
The Atlanta-raised artist has been catching the ears of Grammy-nominated producer and Miley Cyrus-favourite Mike WiLL Made-It over the years, eventually leading the producer to sign her to Warner Chappel on a publishing deal. Unapologetically herself, the singer is ready to take over the pop scene with her bold new sound.
