Many of us know that feeling of realising that we’re in a toxic friendship all too well. Whether it’s a lack of support or just pure bad vibes, certain friends have the capacity to surprise you in the most negative of ways. This is the exact premise that singer-songwriter Abigail Rose bases her latest track “Crazy Eyes” on. Featuring Rose’s raw vocals, the song’s lyrics take us on a journey through her personal experience with a harmful friendship while a pulsating beat rings throughout. Offering both a relatable narrative and infectious sounds, the track is a display of pop perfection.

“I was burned pretty badly by someone I thought was my friend,” explains Rose. “I’m always trying to see the positive side of things, but in this situation, I just couldn’t. So, I decided to channel all of that hurt and anger and put it into a song. I love songwriting because it lets me bottle up, in this case, toxic feelings about someone and leave it there, not letting any of that negativity stay with me. My favourite songs I write are ones that perfectly capture the emotions I was going through and ‘Crazy Eyes’ really does. If you’ve ever been screwed over by a friend, this song is for you. Chelsea Balan and Ryan Harvey are my amazing co-writers on this song. Harvey is the producer, as well, and was able to beautifully capture the chaotic energy with production.”

While her latest tune is something to behold, it is not the first release of her’s to win over listeners. From her tunes gracing Spotify official playlists to certain songs of her amassing up to 1 million streams, her work resonates with those who hear it. And, with a string of singles set for release over the year, we know that we will be blessed with more hits from Abigail Rose very soon.
