Oh, you wanna talk about dream teams? Try Petra Collins, Selena Gomez and Drake all being involved in a thriller about the world of social media influencing – and before you ask, no, we’re not living in a simulation.

Spiral is a psychological thriller that hinges on a former influencer whose addiction to social media quite literally causes her body to fall apart. We suppose its kind of like Death Becomes Her, except Meryl and Goldie are both Selena Gomez, and instead of the elusive look of youth, Gomez wants enough followers to be able to post a swipe-up link on Instagram.

“I’ve been spiralling about this for three years and so excited to finally share!” Collins said on Instagram this weekend, describing the project as a “beautiful monster” that she wrote with @sosadtoday’s Melissa Broder. Drake and his Euphoria co-producer Future the Prince, aka Adel Nur, are also both on board for the project.

Spiral is the third time Gomez and the ethereal photographer have teamed up for some visual magic, following the singer’s video for “Fetish” back in 2017 and Wonderland cover in 2015, marking Collins’ own full-length directorial debut. And if we know anything about Collins since following her from Rookie days, let us warn you that film twitter is going to be in a frenzy with all the soft-hued cinematography she’s set to serve up. Trust and believe.

So guys, who’s ready to Spiral?
