This week has quickly become dedicated to the unveiling of albums. While most of us are still trying to process the news of a brand new Billie Eilish album, we have been hit with another huge announcement. Lana Del Rey waited less than a day to drop the bombshell that she too has an album set for release in July.
Blue Banisters was revealed to us on Instagram this week in the form of a post of the “Video Games” singer sporting a natural hairdo and beat, while a curled blue font flashed the album’s name across the image. With the caption simply reading “BLUE BANISTERS Album out July 4”, we have been given little information to go off, but just enough to send the fans into a meltdown.
While this week was the first time we received confirmation of an album, we got our first hint towards the new project back in April when the singer uploaded a similar picture with the album’s name present. And, while it is unknown if the highly-anticipated title Rock Candy Sweet, which was teased back in March, was adapted to become the new title or if it’s a possible single, it is clear that Lana has been playing with album ideas for some time.
This will be the singer’s 8th studio album and comes as her second album drop of the year following on from her wildly successful project Chemtrails Over The Country Club. So, buckle up as July is set to be the official month of sad girl summer album drops.
