With many of us still trying to recover from Monday night’s Oscars, you may be under the impression that you’ve seen all that the fashion world has to give this week. Well, think again. From Dua Lipa dripping in Balenciaga jewels to Bella Hadid bringing in denim on denim for another year, here are the looks we have been loving from the past week.
LOOKS OF THE WEEK
Bella Hadid, Dylan Sprouse and Dua Lipa show us how it’s done in this week’s fashion round-up.
Dua Lipa in Balenciaga said “I am the disco ball”
When it came to Elton John’s Oscars viewing party, there was only one guest on everyone’s mind, and it was Dua Lipa. The “Levitating” singer, who also put on a show-stopping duet with the evening’s host, chose a crystal-encrusted Balenciaga gown as her ‘fit of choice. The sparkling ensemble featured an elegantly high neckline and a cut-up fringe hem, making it look like Dua was literally dripping in diamonds. We give this look 1000/10.
Bella Hadid reminds us that denim on denim is here to stay.
Just when we thought denim on denim was a thing of the past, Bella Hadid hit us with her latest look on Instagram. Starring baggy cargo jeans and an unbuttoned denim shirt, her outfit gives us major Justin and Britney at the AMA’s energy, which is only furthered by the presence of a boxy denim trench jacket.
Stormi drips hard at date night
It’s official. At the age of 3, Stormi Webster has more drip than we will ever see in our lives – but we’re ok with that. Stormi’s look consisted of a white vest, straight-leg leather pants and a puff jacket emblazoned with orange and yellow lightning bolts. And, with mum Kylie Jenner claiming that Stormi’s ‘fit was for a “date night” with her friends, it is fair to say that we are all struggling to cope with this overload of cuteness.
Miguel is a cherub amongst men.
Just when we thought Miguel couldn’t get any more dreamy, he dropped this picture on the gram. Complete with cream coloured waffled joggers and safety pin earring, the standout garment was a canary yellow knitted jumper printed with cherub motifs.
Elle Fanning and Vivienne Westwood channel their inner Empress
Elle Fanning really stole the show at this year’s Independent Spirit Awards. Dressed in a Vivienne Westwood gown inspired by Catherine the Great and her love of pearls, she was a vision. The corseted bust extends into a silk and effortlessly draped skirt, which is fashioned out of a glimmering iridescent lilac fabric, while stringed pearls hang around Elle’s arms and neck. The actress said it best, “no one does a corset like Westwood.”
Beyoncé schools us on how to do sheer
By now, we are all familiar with the brand Anué. From Kylie Jenner to Nicola Peltz, celebrities have been sporting the intricate sheer garments from the UK-based clothing brand for a while now. But, no one has managed to pull off the band’s collection better than Beyoncé. Choosing the Green Sculpture Print Mini Dress, the “Drunk In Love” singer also sported matching above the elbow gloves from the brand and a contrasting mini neon green bag.
Currently wishing we were Dylan Sprouse’s vest
Sometimes less really is more and this is definitely the case with Dylan Sprouse’s latest look. Whilst on a hike with girlfriend Barbara Palvin, the Disney Channel star wore a fitted black vest and thin-rimmed glasses, all the while showcasing his flowing golden locks – this is giving us 90s Leonardo DiCaprio vibes and we are living for it.
Louis Partridge does post-lockdown in style
Man About Town cover star Louis Partridge, like many of us, has been embracing the post-lockdown lifestyle – and in style may we add. While enjoying drinks in a busy outdoor bar, the young actor wore a green knitted vest while shirt white sleeves peaked out over his shoulders. Finishing off the look was a thin silver chain and a spiky hairdo.
