Dating is one of the more confusing experiences that we go through in our younger years and it is safe to say have all found ourselves feeling the pressure to be our authentic self – all the while feeling a need to play it cool and, let’s be real, make sure we don’t get blocked after the first date. Well, the alt-rock collective Boxteles is here to let us know that we aren’t alone. Inspired by the trials and tribulations of modern-day dating, the four-piece band offers their latest track “D’You Mind”. Accompanied by gruff vocals and riffs galore, we are offered lively lyrics running over highly charged rock instrumentals which provide truly electric sounds fit for our summer playlist.

“”D’You Mind?” is a song that tries to encapsulate the excitement, anxiety and adventure that is the world of modern dating,” explains the band’s vocalist Tom Bedford. “It’s about trying to be yourself and be true to yourself as well as trying to impress and maybe hide aspects of your personality that you feel may deter others from wanting to stick around, all wrapped into a rocky upbeat pop song.”

Having already released an abundance of popular singles, it is no surprise that the band has gained a loyal fanbase and from selling out two headline shows to joining the likes of Kyle Falconer on stage, it is clear that they’re taking the North by storm. With the band itching to return to the stage upon the alleviating of lockdown, it is clear that they are destined for great things and we can’t wait to see what the next year holds for them.
