With summer on the horizon, we’re on the hunt for those perfect feel-good rhythms to soundtrack through those hazy days in the park with friends. Luckily for us, Emma Negrete is serving up the good with her genre-bending new single “Magma”. Pulling on the same strings as Kali Uchis and Lana Del Rey, Negrete effortlessly transcends between electro-pop and R&B letting her authentic and soulful vocals guide us through. Filled with euphoric contemporary jazz breaks and 80s electro-influenced choruses, the singer infuses all of her influences into the single, creating an eccentric soundscape that has us ready for summer.
“I believe that there is power in learning the difference between changing yourself for someone and getting yourself together for the one you really love… this is that song for me,” Negrete revealed as she opened up on the single. “I wrote Magma for the passionate lovers that find themselves constantly putting out their own fires just to keep the right one burning. Magma is an anthem for all the arsonists of love out there willing to do anything and everything to get it right.”
Taken from her latest project “Algorithms”, which was released earlier this year, the singer continues to deep dive into her emotions on the project, detailing the electrifying up and downs and finding a new beginning. We suggest blasting this project and single on a hot summers day for full effect.
