This month is like the gateway drug to summer. There’s sun, but it’s chilly. We can eat out, but not in. There’s been bank holidays, but not an entire 6 weeks off of school (or work). We just want to bask in the glory of Cancer season and avoid deadlines and anything else that’s remotely tasking, but unfortunately there are still a good few months in between us and our dreams. To keep our spirits high, we’ve collated a list of loves that have preserved our sanity and made us feel that bit more whole again. If it’s worked for us, surely it’ll work for you too – but we’re not wellness gurus – so if this doesn’t cure your April blues, please don’t sue us!

The Pub

We suppose this one goes without saying, finally being able to neck a double vodka and coke in the freezing cold is a testament to the normality of British life we’ve been missing out on these last few months. Once the weather has perked up, this combo will be unbeatable. See you at The Shacklewell Arms!

Lil Nas X

We just think he’s great. Really, really great. His merch, codesigned by Pizzaslime, for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” is pretty cool too! You can find it here.

Trash Theory

If you’ve ever wondered which men of music have written songs about Courtney Love, how Placebo came to prominence, or what really happened with Blur vs. Oasis, you needn’t look any further than Trash Theory. The pseudo-documentarist channel is an idyllic lesson in all things musical, and informative but not preachy look at all our countries’ rich cultural tapestry has to offer on the sonic side of things. Our favourite episode has to be their most recent, an ode to British producer Richard X and how he changed face of pop as we know it with the Sugababes’ “Freak Like Me”. Give it a watch!

We were just as flabbergasted as you when the articles and tweets came rolling in about A24’s latest endeavour. They’ve only gone and made a set of books about our favourite Emmy-award winning show, Euphoria. Bound in super-irresistible holographic covers, the set features 8 stories, most likely hinging on each of the main characters. Besides there being no release date or official description of what we can expect, we’ll just have to be on our toes waiting for further developments to tie us over until the next season graces our screens.

Mario Kart Tour (for iPhone)

This has to be the ultimate iPhone game there ever was. Sure, Flappy Bird was good for that day, or that one with the high heels where you can play as Nicki Minaj after you get past the millions of adverts they offer. But there’s just something SO addicting about Mario Kart Tour, like, it’s so easy, yet one rogue red shell catching the back of your vehicle can shoot you down from 1st straight to 7th. The adrenaline you feel trying to claw your way back up is just indescribable. What a rush!

Marc Jacobs has his feet (which are encased in vintage lilac Vivienne Westwood platforms) placed firmly on our necks with the latest drop for his new Heaven line. Having opened a new store in LA to showcase his uber-cool wears, with the help and curatorial eye of Climax Books, everyone from Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney to Thundercat and Steve Lacy have popped in for a peruse and chin wag. We ourselves have got our eyes on a couple of hoodies, maybe even a grey puffa bag, so if any are going spare – hit us up, Marc!
