With restrictions being lifted as we speak, many of us are preparing to re-enter society, and just in time for summer too. First up, Australia-based makeup artist Rowi Singh. Here, it’s all about avant-garde serves and high-glamour looks. Infused with bold hues and gemstones galore, the influencer offers us masterfully painted looks that also feature physical 3D aspects – including fresh flowers and chunky jewellery. With nods to her Indian heritage, you will also see references to old-school Bollywood glamour and accompanying accessories offer a base for many of her concepts. And, if her highly-skilled makeup looks weren’t enough, she also runs the account @theartives which vows to unearth and elevate “creative excellence” for minority makeup artists. We have no choice but to stan.

There is nothing basic about Jazzelle Zanaughtti. The Fenty model-turned-makeup and fashion icon is the living embodiment of style and individuality and we are obsessed with her. Better known by her IG handle Uglyworldwide, the model’s Instagram is a place filled with outrageous fashion looks and daring eye moments that will have you reaching for your Morphe palette. And, in an age of soap browns and bushy being seen as better, she rocks the pencil-drawn ‘90s eyebrow – to the point where she is making us want to take a pair of tweezers to ours. If you are looking for some against the grain and highly sexy aesthetic inspo, she is the person you should be following.

Remember back in 2019 when everyone was obsessing over the makeup looks being sported by the cast of HBO’s Euphoria? Well, if you were one of those people you need to follow the artist behind the magic. Doniella Davy is Euphoria’s resident makeup artist and the person responsible for the now-infamous glitter tears and cloud doodles that we saw the likes of Zendaya and Hunter Schafer rocking throughout the show’s first season. A scroll through her feed will offer you countless Euphoria-esque looks, complete with neon shades, loose glitter and natural bases. And, with the second season of the hit show fast approaching, her account is one that you will definitely want to be following.

If you are a fan of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, our next MUA won’t be a stranger to you. Making their debut under drag alias Gottmik, the makeup artist-turned-drag superstar spent the whole of season 13 turning out some seriously fierce fashion moments and out of this world beats. The star’s most signature look is the now-coined clown beat which features a ghostly white paint and bold black lip – honestly, we have never seen a clown look so good. Offstage, Gottmik – aka Kade – has also been known to work as an MUA with a star-studded array of clients which includes Paris Hilton, Kaia Gerber and Heidi Klum. Crowned a tans pioneer by Ru herself, Kade not only made their way to the final by serving up looks but by also providing candid discussions on their transition and the drag community. We love to see it!

Her IG – and accompanying Youtube channel – is filled to the brim with easy to follow makeup tutorials and the type of glam perfect for nights on the town or boujee dinners. Blac – who is a burns survivor – also uses her platform to discuss the narrative surrounding scarring and beauty standards with an approach that is both empowering and uplifting as she shares her story in a bid to light the way for others who have had similar exepricnes.

Last but not least is Parisian MUA Cecile Paravina. Having collaborated on campaigns for the likes of Amina Muaddi and our fave beauty guru Rihanna, she works the editorial circuit offering quirky and high-fashion beats. Should you happen to browse through her Instagram, you will quickly notice that her looks are very eye-centric. Whether it’s watercolour hues smeared across her lids or intricate black liner used to create extravagant patterns, she offers endless amounts of inspo – all the while referencing her french roots with rouged lips and an extremely natural base. It really is the eyes for us though.
