With the sun setting after 7pm and the days slowly (but surely) getting warmer, we can happily say summer is soon upon us – and easing us in with their woozy soulful new EP is Old Fashioned Lover Boy with “Yacht Soul”. Continuing to explore his diverse and genre-bending sound, the artist delivers a rich and smooth offering, intertwined with glittering retro synths and blissful R&B melodies. Leading the project with single “Wait”, the singer croons emotionally over the low thumping bass line, before venturing into an emotional atmospheric break.

“’Yacht Soul’ is like closing a circle”, the artist says. “I decided to start this new chapter and focus solely on my growth as an artist and a songwriter. This EP is a perfect synthesis of who Old Fashioned Lover Boy is right now.”

Similar to that of Passion Pit and Glass Animals, the singer infuses his ever-growing sound with experimental productions, creating romantic and soothing fusion. Having released his debut album Our Life Will Be Made Simple Things way back in 2016, this is just the right dose of summer to keep us satisfied.
