We love a good dance bop as much as the next person, but sometimes a breath of fresh air is what’s needed to recharge the inspiration and get the mind going again. With his wistful nostalgic sound in hand, frontman from folk-rock group The Chordaes, Leo Sawikin, is providing the goods with his serene new single “A Whole World Waiting”. Rich with melodic guitars and soft rolling drums, the singer emotionally croons over the packed production and leads us into a classic folk and indie soundscape, filled with ear ringing strings and subtle echoes. Like most dreamlike ballads, Sawikin blends an array of harmonies for the closing bridge, before slowly fading underneath the single guitar-led melody.
Serving as the teaser from the artist’s forthcoming debut album Row Me Away, Sawikin’s mellowed out pop-rock tune introduces us to his tone for the album, which is set to explore the aftermath of heartbreak and venturing into unknown territory.
Speaking on the upcoming project, the artist revealed, “Overall, the new album reflects this feeling that you’ve missed out on the best the world has to offer, and just the pervading sense that things are getting more difficult in the world – and every attending emotion that goes along with it.”
