What is a song without great visuals? Emerging artist ALOUISE – also known as Amanda Louise Macchia – is here with her debut track “Gloria”, which is accompanied by a stunning self-directed visualiser. The song, which has been produced by Granny Smith, offers the singer’s gruff vocals laid over a compelling beat. Hailed as a talk-disco single, the tune is guided in tone and imagery by a fusion of retro influences and fashion.

“‘Gloria’ pays homage to the ’70s disco (and rock) songs of the same name” states ALOUISE. “I wanted to reinvent this feeling for the digital-era discotheque by using monotone soundscapes to create a talk-disco track with both English and Italian vocals.”

Having made a name for herself as a DJ in Paris and New York, the singer has also immersed herself in the fashion world, with brands such as Givenchy, Chanel, Marine Serre and Chloé recruiting her to create visual content for them. The stop-motion visualiser, which was crafted from instant film polaroids – splattered, smeared and flecked – sees the singer model a chic black mini dress while striking a pose.
