Many of us find it impossible to part with our social media. For better or for worse, we are a generation truly addicted to our timelines. This is exactly the notion that Swedish singer, songwriter and producer Mountain Bird explores in his latest electro-pop track “Something Wrong with My Mind”. Taken from his highly-anticipated EP “Once We Were Present”, this latest track offers airy vocals and electrifying beats, giving the tune an optimistic feel despite the darker and introspective lyrics.

“So many people have this abusive relationship with social media, which takes over their lives just like a regular drug addiction does,” explains Mountain Bird, aka Adam Öhman.

Accompanying this powerful track is an intense and thought-provoking music video. Set in a dimly-lit room, we watch a knife-wielding Öhman being taunted by the technology in his home which he claims is “inspired by the presence of AI in advertising, and how our digital imprint only works to serve the engine to make us purchase things and behave accordingly.” The video is a poignant reminder of the reality of the lyrics that fill out this electrifying tune.

With Mountain Bird himself co-directing this intense video, it is clear that the singer-songwriter brings intelligence and thoughtfulness to his work. “Something Wrong With My Mind” is one of five featured tracks making up the “Once We Were Present” EP which can be found here.
