It is safe to say that the fashion industry has been put through a plethora of trials and tribulations amidst the adversity brought on by COVID-19. However, through resilience and adaptation, we have still managed to enjoy the biggest fashion events of the year through virtual displays and interactions. This is certainly true of this year’s LVMH Prize as the company reveals its semi-finalists for 2021.

Hailing from a plethora of countries, including Japan, Nigeria, France and Columbia, a diverse group of 20 brands have made this coveted list. With €300,000 and a bespoke year-long mentorship up for grabs, this life-changing honour is every young designer’s dream. Amongst the semi-finalists sits the likes of Saul Nash and Bianca Saunders as well as industry-favourite Chistropher Jonh Rogers. The works of all of the young talents, who are presenting a range of genderless, menswear and womenswear collections, are being showcased digitally between the 6th and 11th of April via the LVMH website. To make this news all the most exciting, in an LVMH Prize-first, voting is now open to the public meaning that you can have your say in who wins this truly remarkable prize.

The initiative, which has honoured designers such as Marine Serre, Jacquemus and Wales Bonner in the past, acts as a launchpad for young designers globally and is a true indication of who is up next in fashion, meaning that the fashion world will be eagerly awaiting the results.
