Our girl Lindsay is back with another bop. The actress-turned-singer took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal her latest song “Lullaby” which comes as a collaboration with DJ Manuel Riva. However, this is not your average song release. While many of us would assume that we could enjoy Lohan’s new tune on streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music, her latest project, which can be accessed exclusively on the FansForever website, comes in the form of an NFT.

What on earth is an NFT, I hear you ask! Well, an NFT (or a non-fungible token as it is more formally known) is a completely unique digital collectable. In the same way that bitcoin is a digital currency, NFT’s are digital items that you can purchase. The next question that may come to mind is, why would someone invest in an NFT? With FansForever hailing “Lullaby” as “a trip down memory lane” as well as claiming this to be a “never before experience,” we are thoroughly intrigued by the idea of owning rights to this truly unique project.

While these digital collectables may seem confusing in nature – we are still trying to get our heads around them – many creatives, including Grimes and Paris Hilton, are turning to the format. Supposedly, NFTs are the future of the creative industry with Lindsay herself claiming her latest venture “is a genesis piece and history in the making!” This weird and wonderful development from within the creative industry may take some getting used to, but we are excited to see what happens next.
