Summer is just around the corner and Swedish disco duo Tomode are getting us in the mood with their latest endorphin-drenched single “Golden Retriever”. Bursting with layers of bombastic guitars and pianos, the duo captures that top-down drive feeling with shimmering reverbs and nostalgic pop elements. Keeping the optimism going in their heart-warming lyricism, the duo reminds listeners that life isn’t about achieving perfection, but rather living in the moment and giving your all.

Marking this single as their third cut from their debut EP – which is set for release later this year –  the duo, consisting of Carl Leandersson and Viktor Westerberg, have been bouncing back and forth between a range of sounds, taking us through trippy euphoric soundscapes and retro disco dance floors since their debut last year.

Opening up on their latest offering from the EP, the duo revealed, “We wanted to capture that ‘take-a-drive-with-dad-feeling’, the anticipation and freedom of being on the summer road with the windows down, the biggest dilemma being what snack to bring in the car. We want the song to evoke that naive optimism that we embrace as kids, but which gets worn down as we get older. The world needs more friendly Golden Retrievers and less downtrod-den sceptics.”
