The vegan footwear brand have teamed up with the cult kitschy label for the jelly collaboration of our dreams.
After the year we’ve had, we deserve all the things that make us happy. No questions asked. So thankfully, here with the serotonin-boosting jelly collaboration of our dreams are vegan Brazilian footwear brand Melissa and cult London kitsch masters Lazy Oaf.
Drawing upon the playfulness of the cultural legacy of the 90s, expect mini jelly shoppers adorned with cute statement badges, and Melissa’s iconic Kick Off sandal reimagined in pastel, saccharine hues, finished via Lazy Oaf’s signature lens – eye-catching chunky foam soles, retro adjustable clips and velcro fastenings abound.
The summer-ready 8-piece collection is a vibrant fusion of Melissa’s much-loved sustainable jelly cult status and Lazy Oaf’s positioning as youth subculture streetwear innovators. Just in time for the warm weather, the sandals come in five colourways; lime green, candyfloss pink, baby blue and two statement blacks with hearts and flowers.
“We have been fans of Lazy Oaf for a while, and were ecstatic when the opportunity to collaborate arose,” explains Melissa’s Brand Director Raquel Scherer. “We have many shared values and elements, such as both brands’ vibrant and playful colours and styles, and strong community pillars with devoted fan bases – ours in Brazil and theirs in the UK – which we have seen firsthand since opening our concept store in London. Through this collab, we were able to add Lazy Oaf’s fun elements to one of our most iconic styles and created an exciting, exclusive product that we can’t wait to share with our communities.”
We’ll take one in every colour, please.
All sandals and bags are made from 100% vegan recyclable plastic and are available to buy online at shopmelissa.com and lazyoaf.com. Prices will range from $49 USD for the bag to $130 USD for the sandals.
