What a month – and we’re only 8 days in! As the entire world waited with baited breath to see Meghan Markle speak her truth on life in the Royal Family, parents across the UK were counting down the days until their little monsters would be back in school and out of their hair for good (until home time, anyway). The weather was bad, but the fashion? So, so good. Here are the looks we’ve been loving this week…
Wonderland.
LOOKS OF THE WEEK
In our Looks of the Week, Cynthia Erivo turns into a gothic Disney princess, and Bella Hadid shows us how to style-up Givenchy.

HAIM head to the Grammy’s

via @haimtheband

Our favourite singing sisters join Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, Cardi B, BTS and many many many more hitmakers in announcing they’ll be performing at the Grammy’s this coming weekend – not Bruno Mars though. To do so, they took to Instagram in a subdued Matrix-esque get up that is sure to dwell in our minds for months. If you need us, we’ll be looking for leather pants and platform boots on eBay.
Doja Cat does up a window display

via @dojacat

Blooooody hell, we just can’t get enough of Doja Cat. Have anyone’s tunes ever gone viral with such ease before? Not quite ready to let go of the Hot Pink era just yet, her latest TikTok famous tune “Streets” is finally getting a music video, and when we say Doja looks incredible, she looks incredible. Dressed in the puffiest Christian Siriano dress we’ve ever seen, we can only imagine what the rest of the video has in store…
Symone makes a powerful statement on the Drag Race runway

via @the_symone

Symone hasn’t missed once with her mainstage looks for Drag Race this season. Everything she does is so thoughtful, executed with total precision and an eye for beauty that’s rarer than finding those Little Moon mochi balls in Whole Foods. This week’s runway look was certainly no different, adorned with red gunshot rhinestones and a fascinator bearing the words “Say Their Names”, the ensemble was made in tribute to the Black lives lost in lieu of the worldwide Black Lives Matter and Black Trans Lives Matter protests this past summer.
Emma Corrin has her foot on our neck – and some claws on her chest

Daniel Roseberry’s Schiaparelli revival has been doing the damn thing these past few months, be it through Regina King or Hunter Schafer. Emma Corrin, the film industry’s emerging fashionista has now stepped into the ring to don one of the house’s modern-surrealist masterpieces, taken from their latest couture collection. The pearl-beaded wonder even comes with matching earrings – albeit the size of a pencil case – that exude glamour and sex appeal at every turn. When they chat about ‘show stoppers’ on The Great British Bake Off, I think this is what they mean.
Cynthia Erivo is a gothic Disney princess

via @jasonbolden

Another contender for Critic’s Choice Best Dressed is Cynthia Erivo, who was already dazzling the world just last week at the Golden Globes. Ditching her blobject-y neon green dress for a gown wholly more sinister with every detail, Erivo’s Vera Wang get-up was utterly majestic, the type of outfit made for a gothic Disney princess film that is yet to be written. No words, just this mesh embroidery train.
Meet Mi-donna

via @mileycyrus

There’s simply too much Miley gorgeousness here for words. Between the hot-pink Madonna crop top and matching corset trousers (paired with a studded belt entirely bigger than our futures), or the cheetah print cowboy hat and Hole vest moment, we might just have to crown her our best-dressed hero of the year already.
Lil Uzi Vert knows Nigo

via @liluzivert

Lil Uzi Vert has popped out to the ice cream parlour to flex his latest look this week. It totally works for him – but could you imagine AJ Tracey going to Creams (when things actually reopen in the UK) and doing the same? As he decides between sorbet or chocolate chips, the pink-diamond clad rapper took the time to show us a new piece, made for the friends and family of streetwear icon Nigo. The pink varsity jacket might be the most delicious thing on the menu here, and that’s saying something considering how much we love a soft serve…
Bella Hadid is a Givenchy girl

via @bellahadid

One of the many famous faces we spotted at Matthew Williams’ AW21 show for Givenchy, Bella Hadid has us totally besotted with this phresh off the runway look. She’s got the big Givenchy bag, some classic Nikes, twin hair clips, a stellar utility jacket and of course, some baggy black trousers. We want it all, obviously.
