Known for championing the laid-back aesthetic way before lockdown trends became all the rave, Creative Director Walter Chiapponi took an unexpected sporty twist for Tod’s AW21 collection. Debuting a lineup that saw the brand’s craftsmanship collide with couture-inspired shapes, we’re introduced to timeless garments that offer both utility and fashion-forward fair. Leather-finished trench coats, slouchy knitted trousers and cape-like silhouettes, were injected a feminine touch as vintage ruffles were added to the neck and statement bows tied neatly to the back of skirts.
Tailoring was also a focal point throughout the collection, as dresses and coats exaggerated their natural lines adding a rebellious and daring nature to the collection. Accessories of course came in abundance and were ballooned to new proportions as their iconic T Timeless bag was reinvented into a new shape alongside the shiny leather Oboe and Hobo bags. And for this year’s must-have treads, peep the brand’s new chunky heeled loafers with high creeper soles that automatically transported us back to 2013 where chunky platforms with leather finishes were all the rave.
Not straying away from their signature Italian elegance, the brand amped up their historical classical brand with bucket loads of spontaneity and edge.
