PREMIERE: BRIXTON ALLEY – “THIS PARTY SUCKS”

Gaudy swimwear, inflatables galore and a gritty production: the group are getting us in the mood for summer with their fun-filled video.

With the sun beaming down and temperatures rising, we can firmly say summer is on the way (111 days to be exact!), and Melbourne-hailed group Brixton Alley are getting us in the mood with their new electrifying video for “This Party Sucks”. Letting loose in gaudy swimwear and inflatables galore, the group bring their eccentric tune to life as they deliver a fun-filled video that fits their unpredictable behaviour.

Explaining the inspiration behind the video, they said, “’This Party Sucks’ was written in lockdown 2020 and explores the feelings and emotions that come with it, portrayed in the song as being at a party you don’t want to be at. The video itself is just something fun that we really wanted to create. We have all spent so long cooped up under restrictions that we really wanted to explore the freedoms Australia has to offer. We headed up to an incredible beach in Noosa, Queensland and just had a load of fun shooting the video. We shot the whole thing in reverse, with us walking backwards down the beach, then had it played back to get the effects you see. The song is quite high energy and upbeat and we wanted a video that captured that”.

Having released their four-track EP “303” last month, the group deliver a gritty alt-pop sound that is reminiscent of the indie-punk era in the noughties. With more music on the horizon, the group are no doubt someone to keep an eye on this upcoming summer.
