For lovers of FKA Twigs and a hair-raising sonic palette that fluidly traverses a smorgasbord of genres, look no further than the talents of newcomer Fifi Rong.

Here with her ethereal new song “Another Me” – a hypnotic fusion of trip-hop, alt R&B and traditional Chinese music – her sinewy vocals and heart-catching lyricism tells a story of doomed romance. Heavenly vocal loops simmer the track into life, and a trickling tempo paces Rong’s storytelling. The music video sees Rong trussed up in floating petals and a delicate wreath of illustrated blooms, symbolising “symbolise purity, nature, truthfulness, vulnerability and the divine feminine form.”

Speaking of the concept behind the single and video, Fifi Rong tells us: “In any doomed romance, timing is always mysteriously wrong. This is my first full CGI music video and it visually portrays the elusive nature of the character surrounding the key message: ‘you won’t find another me’. The undertone of the song displays a sense of pride and confidence in the character’s melancholy. Acting as a rotating statue, I wanted to mark the passing of time and seasons as if a unique and lonely piece of art on display.”
