It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the end of February already – where is the time going? But we couldn’t end the month without some serves, and these celebs came through for us with disco-ready glitter eyeshadow and drag-inspired looks. So grab a Beauty Blender and get scrolling for some inspo from the likes of Storm Reid, Stefflon Don and Rina “Cotton Cunty” Sawayama.
While we eagerly await new music from the singer, Tinashe has been keeping the IG content coming, and this new look is our favourite so far. Channelling bright blue summer skies, the Nightride singer opts for baby blue eyeliner with hints of white and navy. Topping off the eyes with light subtle lashes, the singer completes the look with a beat base and muted lips.
We’ve all tried it. We’ve pulled out our makeshift edges brush (most likely an old toothbrush) and attempt to steadily swoop and slick what little edges we have into the perfect swirl with edge control gel. Unfortunately, our visions never quite meet our expectations. Putting us to shame with her edges is Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi with her latest Insta vid. Singing along to Gym Class Heroes’ “Cupid’s Chokehold”, the actress invites us into her bathroom where she is seen sporting a snatched pony and simple eyeliner. Yara, we need a tutorial for those edges.
Storm Reid is making us green with envy with her latest post
We’re not ashamed to admit that we daily stalk the cast of Euphoria’s IGs in hope of finding out some news on the new season. And while we were on our daily prowl, Storm Reid decided to stop us in our tracks with her latest look for James Gordon’s Chop It Up on The Late Late Show. Catching the golden hour just in the time, the actress ties up her brown braids into a crown while adding in some cute loc jewellery for an ethereal queen-worthy look. Covering her lids with neon green shadow, Storm keeps the rest of her face natural for a striking contrast.
21 June is fast approaching, and we’re already planning our post-lockdown glows, and this look from Future Nostalgia singer Dua Lipa is top of our list. Taken from her Moonlight Edition album cover, the singer channels the last few moments of a sunset for her eyes, as glittering oranges, purples and reds shine bright on her lid. Having a helping hand for the final touches, the singer opts for a matte mauve lip and subtle highlighter to complete the look.
Attempting drag make-up is not for the faint-hearted: exaggerated eyeliner, snatched contour and overlined lips are just some of the few steps in order to complete the fierce look, and Rina Sawayama hit the nail on the head with her attempt. Reinventing herself as Miss Cotton Cunty, the Sawayama singer debuted striking white eye shadow with hints of blue and orange, while steadily slicking her eyeliner up to her temples. We’re sure Ru Paul would rate this a 10/10.
Known to switch up her style every other day, the Don is serving look after look. Putting her previous black hair in the closet, the “Hurtin’ Me” singer opts for a more playful vibe as she rocks a bright blue wig with flicked-out Barbie ends. Neatly swooping her bayang behind her ear, the look comes together with a multi-coloured two-piece.
