Taking us straight into our feels this morning with their new piano-led single, is fast-rising singer-songwriter Curtis Walsh and Anna Pancaldi with “Bend”. Guiding us into a warm and rich soundscape, the duo deliver a single release that exudes emotion and longing, as they trade turns crooning over the layered production. Capturing a turning point in a relationship, the duo open up on their own experience of stepping back and taking the time to evaluate situations, before realising it’s no longer working.
Echoing this thought the single, Curtis got candid on the release and revealed, “I really enjoyed working on this track with Anna during lockdown. It was a very chilled approach despite writing it over video chat. Anna and I could both relate to the feeling of realising something has to change in a relationship but also being fearful of that change at the same time. So we tried to capture that emotion in this song”.
Taking a different turn from his previous bright and euphoric singles “Until I Fall” and “Midnight” released last year, Curtis is debuting a new side to himself in this powerful ballad, and teaming up with Anna Pancaldi was the perfect choice.
