Returning to their roots with their latest drop is Palladium with the reintroduction of the Pallabrousse Legion boot. Designed for the most unforgiving and arid terrains upon its initial launch in 1947, the re-release sees the same iconic silhouette with updated contemporary fabrications and modern manufacturing techniques. Enhancing the structure with a waxed canvas, Palladium delivers a shoe suitable for today’s explorer while eliminating the causes of foot fatigue and allowing for long country walks.
Inspired by the brand’s military heritage, the original supplier to the French Foreign Legion references their heritage throughout the Pallabrousse Legion, as each shade of the shoe will represent a terrain inspired by the environments of the original legionnaires.
Lead designer Adrien Touati opened up on the production of the release, stating, “When design designing the product we had some iconic elements, on the shoe that made this product perform very well. Some of the elements are still here today such as the supportive stripe that we have on the quarters to stabilise the foot inside the boot. When designed the new Pallabrousse Legion in 2021, we of course, paid high attention to keep all those details and elements on the product, but we also made a few upgrades for a more sustainable approach.”
