Forget drab gray anoraks, GeeGee Collection is bringing colourful splendour to the world of sustainable fashion.
Sustainable fashion doesn’t have to be so glum, despite what you may have seen out there already. This is one of many principles that guided Georgia India Cross to found her own contemporary British womenswear brand – GeeGee Collection.
In want of rigorously crafted pieces made here in the UK, peppered with handwoven accoutrements sourced from European style capitals such as Italy and France, Cross made it her mission to deliver the highest quality, style-centred garments on the market. She wanted to appeal to a more conscious and mindful way of living, prioritising ethics and the environment over all else.
Taking materials such as hemp, as well as other biodegradable fabrics, Cross’ non-seasonal approach to design allows for pace-keeping new additions to her store every few months, minimising waste materials and making each item a treasured piece of art. Of course, Cross still aims to exude opulence whilst curtailing the excessive, ditching the stereotypically drab brown and grey anoraks you may associate with eco-friendly fashion, replacing them instead with multi-coloured tasselled jackets and luscious embroidered kimonos.
For Cross, GeeGee collection seeks to bring out that strong independent woman living inside who’s desperate to connect with the world around her, delighting in all the beauty life, and style, has to offer.
