Our inner 12-year-olds are screaming right now because Taylor Swift has just dropped the re-recorded version of “Love Story”. Leading us in with the same dreamy country-tinged guitar solo, the evermore singer has made slight changes to the original song, with subtle production flourishes and replacements. Arriving alongside a sentimental lyric video, the singer takes us back to her Fearless era with blonde curly hair and denim gilets in tow.
The evermore singer is giving us the ultimate Valentine’s present with the re-recorded version the 2008 single.
The song – originally released in 2008 – is the first single dropped ahead of her fully re-recorded album Fearless – which also features six previously unreleased songs. Teasing the announcement yesterday, the move sees Taylor taking control of her music once again after music manager Scooter Braun confirmed ownership of her back catalogue.
Known for planting well-hidden easter-eggs in statements and releases, eagle-eyed Swifties spotted in a Twitter post from the singer that she might be releasing the new album April 9th – keep your eyes peeled.
