There’s nothing quite like receiving a fresh bunch of blooms. Their sweet-smelling petals have this extraordinary ability to unlock memories and capture fleeting moments suspended in time. One small whiff and you’re immediately whisked away to that special time, place, or someone…

On a mission to tickle your senses this Valentine’s Day is Balham-based florist, Ronny Colbie. Whether you’re looking for a timeless classic (the “Cupid bouquet”) or an adventurous surprise (the “Ronny’s Choice” selection), Colbie’s little boutique has the perfect floral arrangement for you.

And why not pick up another smelly treat on the way too? A lover of all things scented, the Canadian-born florist has been busy creating a bespoke collection of candles, handwashes and fragrances to shop alongside – each one both nostalgic and refreshingly new.

“To me flowers are extremely personal, and it is not only their visual beauty which leads people to appreciate them, but also their scent which stirs up our memories and recollections,” Colbie explained. “The fragrance of flowers draws deep parallels with fine fragrance as they both evoke emotions and perhaps why one has naturally led to the other.”
