Imagine it now, the sun is beaming down from the clear blue skies, heat and good vibes surrounding you, and Karl Benjamin’s “Moon” blasting through the speakers. Dropping the new single today, Benjamin playfully croons over the neo-soul production, delivering a vibrant single filled with honeyed vocals and velvety bass lines. Adored with layers of silver drip and simplistic outfits, the singer takes us through an underground green-leafed warehouse for the accompanying video, as he serenades his lover in various scenes.

“I wrote ‘Moon’ about the most important person in my life,” Benjamin reveals. “So naturally, when working on bringing the video together with Sam, I wanted to include that person. I’m not a fan of fake video love. You can always feel when it’s not genuine. I wanted the video to be as real as the song and it’s lyrics are to me.”

Gliding between the likes of SIR and Monte Booker, Benjamin pulls on his love for ambitious productions and soul for his music, channelling the likes of Smino and Chance the Rapper. With the singer eager to work with Philly rapper Tierra Whack and Grammy-decorated Billie Eilish, we think big things are coming Karl’s way.
