Dance-pop banger? Check. Unreal falsettos? Check. A troupe of naked dancers? Check, check, check. Moss Kena’s new track has it all, teaming up with producing-juggernaut KORRES to create what’ll surely be one of this year’s biggest hits – you heard that here first.
The track finds its home on indie label Perfect Havoc, joining the ranks of some of last year’s biggest tunes from Joel Corry and PS1 and upholding Havoc’s position as a hub for the latest and greatest in UK sound. As for its message, Kena stresses its all about peeling back the layers of the self, showing both physical and emotional vulnerability with a loved one.
“I wrote this song about a time in my relationship where I felt we were fighting with our emotional armour, and trying to break down the walls we had built to protect our feelings,” he explains. “I wanted to be ‘naked’ as I wanted us to see and feel each other entirely and connect on a deeper level. You can’t do that when you use your history and past experiences like a shield over your heart.”
With an equally raucous video shot over lockdown featuring some good old fashioned censored nudity and a TikTok ready dance routine, Kena and Korres have already perfected the blueprint for pop greatness. I suppose all that’s left to do is… you know… get naked.
