It’s safe to say that in the last year we’ve all turned ourselves inside out, paced the floors, and burned with the frustration of isolation. But if we’re taking solace from anything, it’s in the certainty that we’ve all been in it together. And this is the exact sentiment being captured by San José’s brightest spark: singer-songwriter Anja Kotar with her new track “Alone Together”.

Against simplistic glimmering pop production and via her honeyed vocals, Kotar takes us on the all-too-relatable journey of quarantine: the mundanity, the small moments of beauty, all whilst marvelling at our propensity to go on.

“‘Alone Together’ helps me reflect on my life of the past year and is the soundtrack to my cry dance parties in my bedroom so I truly hope it speaks to people and their lockdown experiences,” explains Kotar.

Taken from her highly-anticipated forthcoming EP “songs from isolation” – a series of tracks about 2020 – “Alone Together” marks Kotar as an undeniable pop tour-de-force and one-to-watch.
