With a wave of new artists being discovered during lockdown, a must-add to your feel-good playlist is rising newcomer Ruti. Dropping her ethereal new single “My Sunrise” tomorrow, the singer emits warmth and radiance on the track, as her vocals glide over the soothing piano-led production, creating an intimate and refreshing soundscape. Working with Wayne Wilkins (Leona Lewis and Beyoncé) on the track, the newcomer infuses her laid-back approach with a nonchalant beat for a sun-filled single that showcases her potential.
Opening up on the track, the singer revealed, “’Sunrise’ isn’t really about or for anyone in particular. In some ways, I wrote it for myself. It’s a reminder that often there’s a lot more time to do things than I think I have and have to allow ourselves to stop or slow down sometimes. Obviously, I wrote in a Covid free time so I was imagining taking a break somewhere else for a while, but I still have to give myself space to breathe working from home, because it gets so overwhelming.”
Describing herself as a “seasonal person”, Ruti’s latest single is the second instalment from her forthcoming EP out in February, as it follows on from previous single “Closer to You”.
