If there’s anything we’ve learned, it’s that a dynamic film duo is to be taken very, very seriously. Especially when it spawned the forever-iconic 2009 hit Bridesmaids (is it normal to still be able to quote every line of the comedy 10 years on? We’ll leave that with you). And now, its writers Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo are helming yet another raucous oddball rom-com, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, and judging from the tongue-in-cheek SNL sketch-style trailers and teasers, at the very least, it’s going to be rip-roaring fun.

The film follows lifelong friends Barb and Star who “embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time…ever.” What will ensue? “Romance, friendship and a villain’s evil plot.”

So far, we’ve had a sneak-peek at the trailer, which sees Jamie Dornan taking on a different role than we’re used to (we were sold at the comedically-ripping-open-his-shirt portion of the snippet). And now, another “fashion” teaser – starring model Kaia Gerber – has dropped, and it’s getting more ridiculous by the second. Gerber toys with pool inflatables, sips from cocktails and jives with a ukulele – all while wearing questionable attire no doubt satirising the wardrobes of Vista Del Mar’s Floridians (culottes, clashing florals – you get the picture).
