While the majority of us worked from home over the past year as the pandemic spread across the world, key workers had no choice but to continue their work, whether it be in factories or hospitals. Now, Feng Chen Wang has now decided to honour those who have put in such brave work in her new collaboration with Levi’s. Echoing the denim giant’s own history of designing clothes for industrial workers, the collection sees classic Chinese New Year red and hand-dyed fabrics which emulates the texture of clothes that have been worn and worked in. Raw edges are juxtaposed with hand-sewn fabrics and exposed pockets, combining Levi’s aesthetic with Feng’s deconstructive approach to fashion.

The collection tells the story of family, friends and acquaintances, as an industrial worker returns home to be with family for the Spring Festival. For Feng, the collection symbolises the struggle and strength that industrial workers go through, as well as their relentless hope.
