Looking back on the year we’ve had, if there is one thing that stood out to us and will carry on into the next year is the conversations that were sparked by the Black Lives Matter moment. With more people calling out the industry for representation and authentic voices, Beats by Dre stepped forward and have created a new platform that brings together leading artists and influential names in culture to discuss important topics in the Black community.

Hosted by Apple Music’s Dotty, the programme aims to shed light on some of the challenging conversations in society and their own individual experiences. Dropping their first episode today, the DJ sits down via video conference with rappers Wretch 32 and Unknown T covering topics such as the strained relationship between the police and the Black community and the disconnect between artists and the police.

Both rappers go back and forth on their experiences with the police, with the “Homerton B” rapper opening up on his experience of going to jail and how music is drawn from emotion, as well as his hopes for the future.
