Returning with another lush bedroom-pop tune is four-piece group Rikas with their new single, “Overthinking”. Having had their tour cancelled due to COVID this year, the group said we must not go without new music, and dropped a tune filled with sunshine to get us through these dreary days. Bringing summer festival vibes to winter, the group merge light country-tinged guitars with charismatic lyricism for a feel-good hit.

Opening up on the creative process behind the single, the group revealed, “We were kind of stuck in a writer’s block. But somehow this song came in one day and we all fell in love immediately. We new that this song will be our first song after our record Showtime. ‘Overthinking’ has a feel-good vibe but we are actually talking about the feeling of being overwhelmed with life and everything whats going on. You tend to compare yourself a lot and then you get the impression that your art or what you do is never enough.”

Their latest release follows up from their debut album Showtime, which saw the group dive into various genres and display their impressive range and energy. With the outfit spending this year in the studio working on new material, we’re ready to see these guys back on the road again.
