Kiss the Hippo are saving the environment with their compostable coffee pods this Christmas.
Instant coffee is perhaps the greatest pleasure modern life has to offer. No longer must you slog it all the way down to your local barista, waiting in a long line whilst some creature void of any human decency screams at the staff behind the counter for using oat milk instead of almond, when you can just walk to the kitchen and do it yourself. Fab, right?
Well, trouble is, we’re all a little sick of being at home now. In fact, a trip to the shop is currently on par with hitting up Thorpe Park for an entire day of thrill-seeking. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that we need to change everything, including our drinking habits. That’s where Kiss the Hippo comes into things, they don’t want to get between us and our coffee, if anything, they’re trying to make it infinitely better.
Over the last few months, the brand has been hard at work, fashioning up their own organic, 100% compostable, Nespresso compatible coffee pods just in time for the Winter season. Launching December 1st, the endeavour is a continuation of the brand’s efforts to be more sustainable and eco-conscious, besides using the most environmentally friendly roaster – Loring Smart Roaster – and focusing their sourcing efforts on quality-focused producers globally. Packs start from £11 for 20, and even come with a subscription service option, for those particularly avid coffee obsessives.
If that wasn’t enough, to coincide with the launch, Kiss the Hippo is also launching a new initiative where, for every subscription bought, they will plant a tree in the wild, saving our tastebuds, and the planet, one coffee pod at a time.
Kiss the Hippo’s coffee pods are available for pre-order on their website, and will be released December 1st.
