Taking bedroom pop to a whole new level with his second original single is Bristol-hailed singer Conal Kelly with “Control”. Propelling us into a inticing soundscape filled with glittering synths and groove-inflicted bass lines, Kelly’s poetic lyricism guides us through this shimmering production for a magnetic and dreamy hit. The multi-talented singer-songwriter and producer incorporates elements of house and indie-pop melodies for this alt-pop track, giving us Disclosure vibes.
Speaking on his new release, Kelly said, “The whole thing took a couple of months to complete, but the finished track is something I’m really proud of and can hopefully show some diversity in my songwriting! The vocal part really drives the song in my opinion…this is also the first time an outro has been my favourite aspect of a song I’ve written, I love that ending vocal hook.”
Having emerged as a solo artist earlier this year with his debut EP “The 24hr Covers Project”, Kelly has been at full speed ahead gaining support from the likes of BBC Radio Bristol and Radio 1’s Phill Taggart. With 2020 proving to be a big year for Kelly, we’re curious to see where 2021 will take him.
