Are you an art obsessive in need of a visual fix? Well, look no further than NeueHouse Hollywood’s latest and greatest exhibition – Truth is Dead – staged by multi-award-winning British artist Alison Jackson. Having opened to the public for a month last Friday, ‘Truth is Dead’ sees Jackson present her latest series of spoofed pop culture moments, employing actors and lookalikes as means of documenting fake news of famous and infamous icons across the globe.

With over 60 portraits, Jackson reimagines the private lives of a whole host of a-list celebs, with everyone from Posh & Becks to the late Princess Di lining the walls of the bold space. Expect champagne popping, William Hill betting shop visiting royals, porn-loving politicians, and a One Born Every Minute reimagining of a Kimye birth.

“2020 has revealed to us all that “real” celebrities are struggling to be relevant and remotely useful in today’s COVID society,” says Jackson. “It’s painfully obvious to me that many public figures are missing the deep shagpile of the red carpet, the bright lights shining on their every move and the money from “influencer” campaigns. But the question has to be, will they ever return to our interest when this pandemic is all over? Or is 2020 the year of extinction of fame?”

Jackson has been unpicking the illusion of celebrity throughout her entire career, but now that we’re without the glam and the glitz of award shows and red carpets, ‘Truth Is Dead’ ponders if that’s what we really wanted after all…

Truth is Dead is open to the public from November 20th until December 18th 2020, and will be held following local government and CDC guidelines.
