The trailer for Stardust, the forthcoming biopic on famed British musician, film star and space oddity – David Bowie, is finally here!
Taking us back all the way to 1971, a pre-lightning bolt Bowie – a.k.a. Man About Town cover star Johnny Flynn – is embarking on his first American road trip with Mercury Records publicist Ron Oberman (Marc Maron), in a world yet to hear hits like “Moonage Daydream” and “Starman”.
Stardust is set to capture Bowie’s pivot from ‘Bromley boy’ to the fictitious Ziggy Stardust, an androgynous, bisexual, fame-hungry, sex-adoring rock star. With the world at his feet, we see Bowie truly at the apex of his fame, a moment in time where he cemented himself into one of the greats. We’ve got goosey’s just thinking about it.
Written and helmed by Emmy award-winning British filmmaker Gabriel Range (I Am Slave; Death of a President), the film also stars Jena Malone (Nocturnal Animals) as Bowie’s wife Angie.
So far, the trailer reveals all the necessary ingredients for an eye-grabbing biopic, with Flynn donning dodgy teeth, a chalk-on-blackboard accent and a red up-do Sharon Osborne would kill for.
