Ever fancied studying at the school of Dior? Though it doesn’t exist just yet, Christian Dior Parfums have actually teamed up with a leading Parisian art school to launch a course that specialises in the links between contemporary creation and the natural sciences.

“Inhabiting The Landscape – where Arts Meets The Living” was launched last Monday at Les Beaux-Arts, one of Paris’ most prestigious art schools, and aims to help and support students wishing to enter arts education whose practice pertains to nature and the living world. Students will be challenged to imagine their work being woven into geology, history and the multitude of living beings who build and populate a place, joined by guest philosophers and scientists who will embark on this journey with them.

Christian Dior Parfums will be supporting the course over the next three years, and as an added incentive will award one student the Dior La Colle Noite Award following a competition at the end of the academic year. The winning project will be exhibited in La Chapelle des Petits-Augustins of Beaux-Arts, and then in the grounds of the Chateau de La Colle Noire – Christian Dior’s last residence in the Grasse countryside.

Art historian Estelle Zhong Mengual will head up the course, with class beginning on Oct. 19. – so don’t be late!
