On a terribly grim and stormy week like this one, we all need a little pick-me-up from our woes. Thankfully, Amsterdam based multi-instrumentalist Jonasu is here with a tropical, house-y rendition of the iconic Tove Lo hit, “Habits (Stay High)”.

Real name Jonas Kröper, the German-born songwriter and producer has always had a penchant for pop classics, previously putting his spin on seminal classics such as the Spice Girls’ “Wannabe” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere”. It’s no surprise that with impeccable taste levels like this his music catalogue has garnered millions of streams since debuting in 2018, not least for his work with artists like Sam Feldt, Conor Maynard, Don Diablo, and Cathy Dennis (Katy Perry, Britney Spears).

Of course, it was Jonasu’s this fascination with classic pop and unique vocal styles that brought him to Brit-singer Felix Samuel, and the rest is pretty much history. “‘I don’t ever want to do a straight cover,” he explains of the process. “I make modern versions of classic songs.” For this current reimagining of “Habits (Stay High)”, Jonasu has even sorted us out with an acoustic rendition, for those times we aren’t feeling as dancefloor-ready as we should be, and a how-to video detailing the process of his deep house endeavours. He’s seriously thought of everything, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
