Meet RESPONS – the Leighton Buzzard-helming rapper making a change with his funky beats and thoughtful approach to songwriting. Drawing from a wide array of influences, from the heartiest of Gospel to hydraulic-bouncing hip-hop, RESPONS has been hard at work over the last six years, expertly honing in on his sound by crafting dramatic and punchy flows akin to that of Plan B and Mike Skinner – shouting-out the latter in his introspective track “Pray For Change”.

As the first new music release from the artist since his acclaimed debut project, “VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING MEANS NOTHING”, “Hilary” is chock-full of dry vocal genius and feel-good flair. Teaming up with London-based talents Samm Henshaw and Barney Artist for the occasion, the trio tackle love, lust, and life in the big city, feeding off each others’ energies over a soulful beat and tons of plucky choruses.

“It was a pleasure to jump on this track with both RESPONS who is a great new talent, and Barney who I’m a big fan of,” exclaims Samm Henshaw of the project. We were met with a similar energy from Barney Artist, who actually supported Henshaw at Scala last year. “I heard the demo and liked it straight away […] was fun to work with both Samm and RESPONS on a track, can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
