We’ve all been there on a drunken night, you have one too many tequila’s and before you know it, a barrage of texts, unflattering selfies and squealing videos find their way to your contacts list. It’s enough to make you cringe after finding them in your Snapchat memories, but having them make their way to an ex? Devastating. The only thing that could be more devastating is finding out that former special someone has blocked you, e-freezing you out of their life, forever.

It’s this phenomenon that singer Henry Dell tackles on his infectious new dance cut, “Blocked Me”. Teaming up with dark-pop producer YCONN for the occasion, the pair have plugged the club-ready banger with syncopated bass and driving rhythms aplenty, each layer of the synth-laden tune crafted carefully as a labour of love between the pair over the past 2 years.

“I came up with the idea for Blocked Me when my ex blocked me on social media. I instantly realised this had never been put into a pop song, and was a great opportunity to flip the situation on its head, and make a social media self-love anthem that everyone could relate to,” explains Dell.

This one’s for all the lonely hearts out there. Dell wants us all to feel good, dance, and not sweat the small stuff – three rules we can certainly abide by.
