One thing we’ve learned in 2020? We’re always under strict instructions to stan Rina Sawayama. And this quest has led us straight to her latest victory: placement in none other than revered designer Gareth Pugh’s latest project, marking his delicious return to fashion.

Ahead of the start of London Fashion Week this weekend, Pugh has launched his major new art project “The Reconstruction”, which encompasses a feature-length documentary, live exhibition at Christie’s London, and “visual concept album” – shot by the legendary Nick Knight. So 13 iconic looks inspired by 13 iconic songs – with Pugh’s first collection since buying back his trademark in March 2020 – captured in 13 stills and 13 explosive fashion film shorts.

And in the portraiture, a groundbreaking mix of fashion and entertainment, enlisting an incredible cast of “artists, activists and change-makers” – including Sawayama; former Wonderland musician IAMDDB; artist and activist Sakeema Crook; the Royal Ballet’s principal dancer Matthew Ball; artist and Performer Jenny Bastet; dancers Travis Clausen-Knight and James Pett; model and muse Maggie Maurer; performers and nightlife icons Finn Love and Georgie Bee; model Jade o’Belle; and finally, vocal model-of-the-moment, Georgia Moot.

All profits from the collection (including the ticket sales for the Christie’s exhibition itself) are set to be donated to Refuge – the British charity supporting women and children experiencing domestic violence.
