So you need a badass song to make an entrance to? Well, garage-rock collective Burning Pools have you sorted with their debut gritty tune “Bang Bang”. With distorted guitars and heavy percussion, the group are giving us 70s punk vibes. Consisting of Smashing Pumpkins bassist Ginger Pooey, Kris and Max Bernstein, the group have created their own unique blend of power-pop and contemporary pop-punk, pulling influence from legends Siouxsie Sioux, Slash and Morrissey.

Speaking on their debut tune, the group have said, “It’s nothing new for music to be a voice of criticism of our culture. That is the purpose of a lot of art. This is just my way of expressing my frustration with the priorities of modern society. Valuing money over everything, undervaluing women and people of colour. Hopefully, our songs make people who are of the same accord feel heard and supported. There is so much injustice in the world, we hope to be a part of the solution in some small way.”

The confident tune is the first release from their upcoming debut EP due out later this year.
