Actor Paul Mescal is taking a leap from the small screen to the silver screen for Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut The Lost Daughter. Staring alongside Oscar winner Olivia Colman, Fifty Shades of Grey’s Dakota Johnson and Chernobyl’s Jessie Buckley, the film takes us through the 2006 Elena Ferrante book of the same name, focusing on a college professor who becomes obsessed by a young mother and her daughter while on holiday – forcing her to address difficult memories of early motherhood.
Though Mescal announced earlier this week via Twitter that he would be taking part in the adaption, the actor didn’t disclose what his role will be. With no set release date on the cards, we’re curious to see what this adaption will entail – watch this space.
