While we all hate the prospect of summer ending after this pending bank holiday weekend, Stockholm-hailed artist and producer flyckt has taken it to the next level with his wistful new tune “Summer Is Over”. Featuring vocals from Gothenburg singer-songwriter and TikTok star Paul Jiven, flyckt provides us with a slow-moving tune led by subtle guitars and rolling percussions. Inspired by the demise of a relationship, the tune showcases another introspective side to the producer’s artistry and creativity.
Speaking on the single and inspiration, the producer said, “It’s written about the wishful thinking that one-day things are gonna be better; that you’re gonna wake up one day and feel everything you once felt. You know it’s over, they know it’s over, but you’re hanging in there waiting for summer to come back.”
Lifted from his EP “Instant Gratification pt.1”, “Summer is Over” is accompanied by a film-noir style music video directed by Sofie K Skoog, bringing the raw emotions of the tune to life. The EP which is also out today, takes us through escapism and depression with moody electro-pop melodies and melancholic ballads.
