If you’re after a track that will see you into the weekend, and every weekend after that – look no further than the hip-shaking finesse of “Control”, the sumptuous new track from Alex Mali.

The Brooklyn-born Trinidadian/Jamaican singer and songwriter has been making waves with her mesmerising brand of dancehall and trap-infused R&B, and her latest single is no exception. Ominous trance steel pans open the track, played in with Mali’s honeyed vocals, later introducing a Carribean-style pounding bass.

“Control is a dancehall R&B trap song that’s sure to be the BadGal anthem for the rest of the summer and beyond,” explains Mali.

​Taken from her debut EP “PHENOM”, the music video is a sultry “Single Ladies”-esque dance line-up, and if this is any indication, 2020 is set to be a big year for Alex Mali.
