It’s always the most unusual circumstances than lead to great things. Things couldn’t be more true for PAPER FACE, the superstar duo who met behind a set of DJ decks at a mutual acquaintance’s wedding.

Daniel began his musical journey after listening to the tune that is “Discovery” by Daft Punk, hooked by its boundary-pushing sound and timeless electronic production. With the help of his tech-savvy father, he’d spend his youth crafting beats on an 80s era Yamaha DX7 keyboard synced up to software on an old Atari console. PAPER FACE’s other half, South Africa-helmed Aden, started dancing at age 2. Bouncing from country to country, he’d soon become a citizen of the world, rapping circles around artists in Germany and across Europe. His parents were also a driving force behind his success, inspiring him to sing by playing records from the likes of Sade, Al Jarreau and Bob Marley in his youth,

The duo put out soft and slow EDM cut “Only Love Together” as their first official release just last month, and have already garnered critical acclaim from dance-pop enthusiasts across the globe. Now, the pair are introducing bass-heavy hit “Sweet Life” to the world. Showing Paper Face’s versatility as artists, “Sweet Life” totally resists pigeonhole-esque attempts to define the groups ever-expansive sound, tackling the highs and lows of love with rich guitars and addictive melodies.

“Coming out of a toxic relationship can be tough, but freeing,” the two explain of the song. “It’s easy to let go of the shitty moments with that person, but so hard to let go of the really good ones. It’s about leaving the sweet life you had with that toxic person behind and beginning the good life without them.”
