What were you doing at 10 years old? Singer-songwriter Devan was dropping off homemade demos to the iconic Olympic Studio – home to the likes of Stevie Wonder and David Bowie, and this determination paid off as now the singer is gearing up to drop her debut solo project. Precocious is an understatement.

Dropping her mesmerising new tune “Real Shot” today, the singer-songwriter opens up on her insecurities and doubts over a contemporary indie-pop track. With compelling vocals and relatable lyrics, the singer pours her heart out on this shimming new track as she sings, “What if we never gave it a real shot/ Maybe I quit too soon / What if we never we never realised /That we had a lot to lose.”

Speaking on the tune, the singer said, “‘Real Shot’ is written from the perspective of someone looking back on an old relationship, considering what things would have been like if it had played out differently. Growing out of relationships and gaining more perspective on each situation can leave you wondering — what if we were older and more mature, and didn’t let things fall apart? Where would we be now? There’s nothing worse than regretting what you could have done or said… It’s often easy to take a backseat in your own life and half-ass things in the name of comfort, but that’ll come back to bite you in the long run.”

Having been apart of the folk-pop band Wild Rivers for six years, the rising singer-songwriter is breaking out on her own and is ready to take centre stage.
